Owl at Home, in a Sweater Vest

Brush and ink on board, 5 x 7. Just starting out--will be painting this with matte acrylics today, so I'll post the completed pic later on. I'm trying for a retro look--sort of an insouciant 50's crooner in owl form.

House on Onion Hill, Dusk

Watercolor, 4 x 6. Private collection. This little sketch was painted outside of Grand Junction, CO, looking west toward the Colorado National Monument. It's painted on Arches hot press watercolor paper.

The Way Through the Woods (detail)

Oil, 10 x 8, private collection I don't mind the complete painting, but I like this wizard character very much.

Border detail from a larger watercolor.

Watercolor, detail approx. 2.5" x 8". Private collection. This is the bottom strip of an 8" x 10" painting of St. Anthony of Padua. It illustrates St. Anthony's travels to Portugal from Italy and back again. The complete painting is an ex-voto-type-portrait of the saint holding Jesus as a toddler.

The Ghost on the Steps

Acrylic, 4 x 4.

Kind of a new approach for me. Have not enjoyed acrylic paint in the past, but matte acrylics are appealing all of a sudden--they don't have the plastic look of regular acrylic.
